New Zealand Division

The New Zealand Division was formed in Egypt in March 1916 from the New Zealand and Australian Division. The 2nd New Zealand Brigade was formed to make the Division upto full strength. This Brigade was made up from drafts for the 1st New Zealand Brigade and was a duplication of the 1st Brigade. The Division went to France in April 1916, here it served until the Armistice.
