Regular. 04 Aug 1914 at Windsor in the 4th (Guards) Brigade, 2nd Division. 3rd Bn. Regular. 04 Aug 1914 at Chelsea Barracks in the 4th (Guards) Brigade, 2nd Division. 4th (Pioneer) Bn. Regular. Formed at Windsor on 17 Jul 1915. Originally called the Guards Pioneer Bn. Went to France on 15 Aug 1915 and joined the Guards Division. 5th (Reserve) Bn. Regular. Formed at Windsor in Aug 1914 originally as the 4th (Reserve) Bn. Became the 5th Bn when the Pioneer Bn was formed. Remained at Windsor throughout the war and supplied drafts to the Battalions overseas. 1st (Provisional) Bn. Formed at Aldershot on 07 Aug 1918 for duties at the Senior Officers School. |
