11th (Service) (St. Helens Pioneer) Bn. Locally raised. Formed at St. Helens by Lord Derby on 01 Sep 1914. Joined the 30th Division.

12th (Service) Bn. Formed at Warrington as Bantam Bn in Jun 1915. Joined the 120th Brigade, 40th Division.

13th (Reserve) Bn. Locally raised. Formed at Oswestry from the Depot Coys of the 11th Bn in Sep 1915. Stayed in the UK and supplied drafts to the 11th Bn.

14th Bn. Territorial Force. Formed at Hemsby from the 49th Provisional Bn on 01 Jan 1917 in the 224th Brigade.

15th (Transport Workers) Bn. Formed at Bebington in Dec 1916 for work at Birkenhead Docks.

16th (Transport Workers) Bn. Formed at Prescot in Apr 1917 for work in the Mersey Docks.

17th (Transport Workers) Bn. Formed at Bidston with men from the other two transport workers Bns in Apr 1918. The Battalion was used on the canals linking the Mersey and Birkenhead Docks with the industrial areas.

18th Bn. Formed at North Walsham on 01 Jun 1918. Absorbed by the 11th Bn on 03 Jul 1918.
