South Eastern Mounted Brigade

The South Eastern Mounted Brigade was a Territorial Force brigade already in existence at the outbreak of the war. At the outbreak of the war it was based at Russell Square, London. Here it remained until Sep 1915 when it dismounted and departed for Gallipoli. The brigade was attached to the 42nd Division while on Gallipoli. In Jan 1916 the brigade was on Mudros and it moved to Egypt in Feb 1916 where it was absorbed by the 3rd Dismounted Brigade.
